The girls and I had a lot of fun in the kitchen yesterday making Bone Cookies.
Here are a few of the pictures:
First you mix 1 cup confectioner’s sugar, 1/2 cup cornstarch and 1/2 cup cold butter. Cut until crumbly.
Next you add 2 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then add 1 tsp. almond extract.
Then you gradually add you flour mixture of 2 cups all purpose flour, 1/8 tsp. salt to the sugar mixture. Shape dough into a ball and cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Next, roll the mixture out to 1/8 inch thickness and cut out your bone shapes.
Bake at 350* for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly brown.
Now it’s time to assemble your cookies. Spread jam (we used strawberry) on one of your
cookies and then top with another cookie.
Next, dip in white chocolate. While doing this you must resist the temptation to
dip your finger into the bowl of chocolate for taste testing purposes. 🙂
Let dry on wax paper.
Here you have the final product.
