I posted this a while back, but felt it was worth repeating. We make our own salad ranch salad dressing and have for quite some time. The family has gotten so use to it that we can’t stand the taste of store bought. Here is the recipe:
Ranch Dressing Mix
1 cup dried parsley flakes
1/2 cup finely crushed saltine crackers (about 15)
1/2 cup dried minced onion
1/2 cup garlic salt
1/2 cup onion salt
1/4 cup onion powder
2 Tablespoons dill weed
Combine the dry ingredients and mix well and store in an airtight container in a cool dry place. Makes approx. 3 cup of mixture which will be enough for 24 batches of dressing.
To make the dressing take 2 Tablespoons of mix and add 2 cups of buttermilk and 2 cups of mayonnaise or salad dressing. I use salad dressing as my family hates mayonnaise. I typically cut the recipe in half and only use 1 Tablespoon of mix to 1 cup buttermilk and 1 cup salad dressing.
*Note* I use the cheapest salad dressing or mayo that I can find.
