Once again it seems that I have fallen off the blog wagon. I have been so busy with other things that I have not had any time to sit down and work on posting. I finally have a few minutes to spare so I thought I would do a little writing.
We have been hard at work getting our budget in place so that we can work on paying our house off. We anticipate that this will take around 5 years to do, but that’s a lot better than 20. As we look back on our finances we realize that we have been so stupid with them. We did not live a frugal life like we are trying to do now. Although, I will have to say that the new KitchenAid toaster oven (red of course) I ordered yesterday was not totally frugal, it was a need. My old toaster and toaster oven are, well, let’s just say that they are expired. I had saved up some money to purchase this so it was not an impulse buy. I think that is where a lot of people make their mistakes. They make too many impulse buys. At the time they don’t think that they are being impulsive as they can think of several ways that they can use or need the item in question. But the truth of the matter is that we don’t need half of the things we purchase. Then we are left with a house full of stuff that we don’t need or can no longer use and must now find it a new home. My hardest part is when I pick up an item that I purchased, I ask myself if I will use it. The answer is usually no, but do you think that is enough to make me get rid of said item. NO. I try to justify its need.
I am really praying the the Lord will help me to purge our home this year and pass along so many unwanted or unused items.
What are some of your goals for this year?
