Today it is cold. Yes, I said cold. It is 40* right now and COLD! I do not want to even step out the door today, but I must as there are things that I need to do.
Yesterday was nice, it was around 65*. What happened?
Yesterday we also made a trip to the dentist for our regular check-ups and I am happy to report that we are all cavity free. Therefore we treated ourselves to lunch at Sonic.
Today, however we are back to our normal non schedule day. I am doing laundry, the girls are doing school and we have a loaf of bread baking in the oven. Which is making me hungry. Ashley made the bread today. It is her first loaf and she can’t stop talking about it. She finally has a desire to cook. Yeah!
Now I just need to work on teaching them to sew. Maybe it would be a good idea if I first learned myself.
Last night Dh told us that today would be home ec. day as he is really wanting to come home to taste everything that we baked. He loves home ec. day. I need to think about what else we can make. Maybe a pumpkin crunch pie? Yeah, that sounds good. I guess I should add pumpkin to my list. It is that time of year that I will be needing lots of pumpkin. Dh started his list of items he wants which consist of pumpkin crunch pie of course, pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, and pumpkin torte (can’t wait to make this one).
It’s a good thing I like to cook. Do you?
I enjoy baking and sometimes cooking. My family loves it when I get in a baking mood, happens more in winter than summer when I have a yen for grilled food (guys do the cooking outside 😉 ).
My hubby has never asked for a home ec day though we’ve had them and I know he likes the results. I don’t do sewing though. I thought that there was someone lined up to teach the sewing but it looks like that has bottomed out. I may just have to break down and pay someone to teach the girl to sew. I’d love to teach her how to crochet, already begun this, and knit, have to work on my own here.
Don’t forget to take pics of the baking process and let us see how it goes today. 😀
Oh I miss the smell of real bread baking in the oven, the gluten free still smells good but well we won’t discuss the taste or texture 😦 (I swear I can smell yours from here, all the way on the other side of the world)
I love that your Dh asks for Home Ec day. That is so adorable. 🙂
I’m teaching my Dd to sew too. It’s slow going, but she loves it. We started with making hankerchiefs. Now we’re moving on to a quilt for her dolls. (All pretty much straight stitching.) Then we’ll move on to more complicated sewing.
Honey, 40* isn’t cold, it is cool.
I love to cook.
