Today I spent most of the day with Ashley in the kitchen cooking. Ashely loves to cook, but often feels that she is not very good at it. For lunch we had the ever famous grilled chesse and tomato soup and dinner was cheeseburger soup. She did a good job on both. Now she is in the kitchen doing the dinner dishes. I wonder how she got stuck with that job. Usually the one who cooks doesn’t have to clean. I will have to check into that one. Her sister probably paid her off or something.
Today Samantha did more training with Sonya. She is teaching her to backup and a few other things. Overall Sonya is doing very well, except for the times that she decided to stand up on her back legs today. Gregg and I personally did not find this amusing, but Samantha just laughed. You have to see Sonya though, she doesn’t fully rare up and she does it in such slow motion that it is kind of funny. When she did it, Sam corrected her and Sonya went right back to riding and doing what she was asked to do. She is a typical two year old who is trying to see what she can get away with. I have to admit that it is a little stressful seeing Sam on her and teaching her new things, but I have full confidence in Sam and all that she has learned over the years in regards to riding and training horses. I do believe it’s in her blood. She is dying to get on my dad’s horse. All I can say about that one is that he was made for the rodeo as all he wants to do is buck. Sam has been on him though and he did fine with her, but he still makes me nervous. Here she is riding Theo a few months ago. He was abused by his former owner and it shows when he gets around men. He is a sweetie though.
