Shouldn’t meeting a new friend make you happy? Yes, it should, but in my case it makes me sad. Let me walk you through my story. You see, I met a wonderful lady named Teresa the other day. She is a homeschooling mom who lives about 10min. from us. I have known of Teresa through our local yahoo homeschool group, but we had never met. Teresa and her family had been trying to sell their home and move to Texas. Well, they finally sold it. So they now needed a new home for Mitzi their Lab. I love animals so I said that we would be happy to take her. That established communication with Teresa. She also had a few things that she no longer needed and I could use so I decided to go over, meet Mitzi and pick up the items. All I can say, is that I wish I had met this lady sooner. I could sit and talk with her ALL day. We made another trip to her home today to pick up a swing set for the girls. I know, my girls are 13 and almost 15, but if you could have seen them playing on it all afternoon you wouldn’t have thought so. Dh had a wonderful visit with her husband and I had more fun talking.
So what makes me sad you ask? She will be leaving for Texas in a few weeks. I feel like I have known Teresa forever. She has the ability to touch your heart in an instance. So even though I don’t have much time left, I can promise you that the impact that her and her family have made on our lives will last forever.
