I can hardly believe that it is August already. It just can’t be. I won’t allow this to happen, therefore Dd can’t turn 13. She has started telling us how many days it is until her birthday. I stood by my baby yesterday and looked down the hallway into the mirror and guess what I saw. She is about 2-3 inches taller than me. However I must confess that I am only 5′ tall, but still. My oldest Dd is about 2 inches shorter than me. She can’t stand the fact that her baby sister is taller than her.
I have yet to purchase her birthday gift. We have 95% decided that we are going to get her a mandolin. Ashely has a gift to be able to play anything that she picks up. Dh is like that too, but he doesn’t admit it. He is teaching himself to play part of Dueling Banjos and Ashley is playing the other part on guitar, no music. We all just sit around and laugh when he plays something and then she picks up her guitar or banjo and plays the same thing. Her favorite thing to do is to listen to certain cd’s and then play the song. One day she managed to listen to a song and have it almost memorized within 30 min. She loves music.
Do you or your children have something that they love to do?
I love to eat chocolate! 🙂
I can completely relate to your children being taller. My son is now taller than me 😦 and his little sister is fast catching up. Her dream is to be taller than brother. 😆 Needless to say he’s not in favor of that.
My son can play the bass guitar and is learning accoustic/electric. He’ll be playing in the worship team for the youth this Sunday as they lead the service in the evening. I’ll have his camera and taking pictures – if he’ll let me.
My daughter, I think that she could be a writer but I’m not going to pressure her, just guide her toward good writing and vocab/spelling.
I love to play the piano. It is such a joy and a big stress reliever for me.
Austin likes to mow and weed-eat. LOL! Really! He does!
