Nothing…

I have nothing.  Not one word to say.  Not one funny thing to write about.  Ok, maybe I do, but that is between me and my BFF.  LOL!  I love calling her that and she knows why.

Basically we are just adjusting to life and doing school.  That’s it.  Sorry.

Dd found an old ring at a thrift store that needed some love so we brought it home to clean it up. Since none of us could actually wear it this is what she came up with. Now we all like doing the dishes.

Dd’s crochet project…

Here is the first hat Dd2 crocheted the other day.

It fit her doll perfectly.

Here is what Dd1 has been working on.

She has completed enough squares to make a small baby afghan. Now she just has to put them together.

A new friend…

Before Dh left we found this little guy still in his Build A Bear Box at a thrift store for $5.oo. He looked so cute and lonely at the same time. I just couldn’t bear to leave him there.

January 17th, 2009

It’s Saturday.

We have no school today. Although we could catch up on math. Nah.

I finally will be doing laundry for the first time in a week. Only 2 loads though.

The house is clean, except for the fridge so I will be doing that today.

It is cold so I don’t foresee us going anywhere today.

That’s about it. I hate the weekends. They are so lonely.

January 16th, 2009

We managed to finish our first week back at school since the beginning of December. I am happy to say that we managed to complete everything except Spanish. I plan on bringing that back into the schedule next week. Our intentions were to start slowly and do only a few subjects a day for a week or so, but the girls jumped right in with both feet. I guess they need to stay busy just as much as I do.

We are a little behind in Algebra, but I am happy to say the both girls are doing well with it. Since we will be working through the summer I am hoping to get caught up and be ready for Algebra 2 by the end of the summer.

We have also been reading about the Laura Ingalls family. We have found out that Laura wasn’t the only writer in the family. Actually they all were in their own way. I found this neat little book called A little House Reader at a used bookstore for 75 cents. We take turns reading it aloud at night.

Day by day we will take this deployment in stride and trust in the Lord. For He is ever faithful, even when we are not.

January 12th, 2009

Dh is now gone and the house is once again quiet.  A very sad quiet.  I spoke with him last night and he arrived at his destination safe and sound.  It was a very hard and emotional day yesterday as I knew that it would be.

We are planning on getting back into school today.  I don’t know just how it will go and how much we will accomplish, but we are going to give it a try.  Because sitting here and doing nothing will drive me insane.  Quick.

January 5th, 2009

I had a little time tonight while DH is at the shop with the van fixing a few things before he leaves on Sunday, so I wanted to do a quick post to let you know what we have been up too.

Christmas was ok.  I normally don’t do very well with Christmas anyway as it is such a sad holiday for me and this year was no exception.  It was just a strong reality that the end of the year was in sight and we were getting ever so close to DH leaving.  I cried most of the day that day and I wasn’t the most pleasant person to be around either.  My mom and dad and my brother and his girlfriend came out for a visit and that was nice.

The day after Christmas we went out and did a little shopping, well as much as we could stand anyway.  I got the cutest apron at Bed, Bath and Beyond.  I will post a picture of it later.

Then we arrived at the new year.  I took it better than I thought.  I keep telling myself that I won’t let this get me down.  I will be strong for my family.  But internet, it is just so very hard.

We are officially down to our last few days.  DH will be leaving on Sunday the 11th.  Two days later than we originally thought.  We are beginning to make last minute preparations and DH has started packing a few things.
